thx dr ramzy
what about the question????
although meningococci has acapsule it is seen intracellular in pus cells
how was it phagocytosed????
how was it phagocytosed????
The answer...
Capsulated bacteria can be seen inside the pus cells although it has a capsule which protect it from phagocytosis
But simply,
If there is an opsonin “ material can facilitate phagocytosis” it can phagocytosed easily
This process occurs as following:
1. Opsonin attach to the surface of the Ag “May be Ab or complement”
2. This opsonin has a receptor on the surface of the phagocytic cell “FC receptor for the Ab & Complement receptor for the complement”.
3. This attachment enables the phgocytic cell to phagocytose the Ag easily.
That’s it.
